China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, reported its polyolefin output was up 12.8% year on year and 3.1% on the month to 132,000 tonnes in February 2024.
Polyolefin sales decreased 26.3% on the year and 21.6% month on month at 98,000 tonnes, according to figures released by the company on March 15.
China Coal Energy produced 67,000 tonnes of polyethylene, rising 13.6% on the year and 3.1% from the month-ago level. The production of polypropylene was 65,000 tonnes, up 12.1% year on year and 3.2% month on month.
The company sold 48,000 tonnes of polyethylene, sliding 35.1% year on year and 26.2% from a month ago. Polypropylene sales were 50,000 tonnes, down 15.3% on the year and 16.7% from the month prior.
The production of urea increased 16.1% year on year and surged 85.1% from a month earlier to 187,000 tonnes in February, and urea sales were 224,000 tonnes, up 9.8% on the year and 50.3% month on month.
In February, the company produced 160,000 tonnes of methanol, up 4.6% year on year and 39.1% month on month and sold 148,000 tonnes, rising 0.7% on the year and 33.3% on the month.
