Henan province in central China consumed 31.85 TWh of electricity in November this year, rising 15.85% from a year ago, sending total power use to 370.33 TWh in the first eleven months, up 4.01% over the same period of 2022, showed data from provincial energy supervision department.
By industry, the primary industries – mainly the agricultural sector – consumed 0.55 TWh of power in November, up 14.19% year on year.
Power use by the secondary industries – mainly the industry sector (18.66 TWh, +10.41% YoY) – hit 19.04 TWh, up 10.33% year on year. The manufacturing industry used 13.22 TWh, an increase of 7.99% on the year.
The tertiary industries – mainly the service sector – used 6.53 TWh of electricity in the month, jumping 41.52% from the previous year.
The power consumed by urban and rural residents for living purpose grew 11.49% year over year to 5.73 TWh in November.
In terms of power output, Henan generated 26.7 TWh of power in the month, 15.85% higher than the same month of last year, with cumulative power output during January-November up 2.18% on the year to 309.84 TWh.
In November, Henan's power generation by hydro, thermal, wind and solar reached 1.14 TWh (+88.8% YoY), 18.69 TWh (+3.79% YoY), 4.5 TWh (+40.17% YoY) and 2.36 TWh (+93.5% YoY) respectively.
By end-November, the utilization time of power generation units averaged 2,421 hours in the province, decreasing 243 hours year on year, of which that of thermal power units fell 147 hours to 3,152 hours.
As of end-November, Henan had 136.41 GW of installed power capacity, increasing 20.4 GW from the same period last year, with hydro, thermal, wind and solar power accounting for 3.92%, 54.26%, 15.36% and 26.46%, respectively.
