China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd., the country's largest listed coal producer, reported its commercial coal output was up 2.8% year on year but down 3.7% on the month to 25.90 million tonnes in February, according to the company's monthly operation report on March 18.
Its coal sales climbed 12.5% from the year prior and rose 28.9% month on month to 38.80 million tonnes last month, data showed.
In January-February, the company's commercial coal production totaled 52.80 million tonnes, inching down 0.4% year on year, while sales were 68.40 million tonnes, rising 7.7% year on year.
The giant miner's coal vessel loading at Huanghua port totaled 14.30 million tonnes in February, down 11.2% year on year and 13.9% month on month; volumes at the company's Tianjin coal wharf were 3.40 million tonnes, up 17.2% year on year but down 12.8% on the month.
Meanwhile, the firm's power generation totaled 17.14 TWh in February, rising 25.2% year on year, sending the total to 33 TWh during January-February, rising 7.2% on the year.
Its power sales were 16.18 TWh in February, a 25.7% rise on the year, with total volume at 31.09 TWh over the first two months, rising 7.5% year on year.
