Australia exported 27.67 million tonnes of coal in November, rising 3.09% from October but receding 3.54% from November 2021, Kpler's cargo-tracking data showed.
Exports to Asian countries totaled 20.93 million tonnes, up 5.39% year on year and 8.11% month on month. Coal shipments to European countries were 697,400 tonnes, surging 114.96% month on month and 91.00% year on year.
By country, Australia still exported the largest amount of coal to Japan in November, at 11.46 million tonnes, climbing 23.52% month on month and 38.06% year on year.
Exports to South Korea reached 2.62 million tonnes, declining 11.82% month on month and 12.74% year on year, while shipments towards India totaled 2.6 million tonnes, up 42.3% month on month yet falling 20.9% year on year.
India will enjoy zero imports duty for coal from Australia after a Free Trade Agreement between the two countries was finalized on November 22, which will cover 90% of Australian exports, such as coal, mutton and lobster.
From January to November, Australia's coal exports totaled 312 million tonnes, down 6.04% year on year, Kpler data showed.
