China exported 230,000 tonnes of coal in July, jumping 171.6% year on year but slumping 55.77% from a month ago, according to data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on August 18.
Exports of coal in July fell notably from June, to the second lowest level in the year. Coal export in March was only 70,000 tonnes, the lowest in the year and of the same month in the history.
The export value in the month jumped 209.8% on the year but slumped 77.99% on the month to $41.25 million, data showed. The export price was calculated at $179.35/t, tumbling $82.42/t from the year before and $181.11/t from a month ago.
China's coal exports in January-July added up to 2.31 million tonnes, rocketing 209.8% year on year, with cumulative export amount surging 232.4% from the year-ago level to $473.43 million.
