China will roll out stronger policy support and put solid efforts to ensure the energy and power supply, Vice Premier Han Zheng made the remarks during an inspection visit to the State Grid Corporation of China on August 17 .
China is now in a critical stage in ensuring energy and power supply, as electricity demand repeatedly hit record highs due to extremely hot weather and the resultant droughts in some regions, Han said, highlighting the importance of sufficient energy supply for social and economic stability.
Han pointed out coordination should be enhanced across the country to guarantee power supply for key regions, homes, public service sectors and key industries, and resolutely prevent aggressive power rationing.
It is important to give full play to the market mechanism and improve government regulation, in a bid to stabilize the primary energy prices.
China will speed up the construction of key projects, and vigorously promote diversified integration of coal mines and coal-fired power plant as well as coal power and renewable energy.
Besides, the country will further strengthen policy support and take a series of measures to help coal power enterprises address their practical difficulties.
