Poland's coal production totaled 9.14 million tonnes in May, up by 2% from a year ago and 1.7% month on month, showed data from the Central Statistical Office of Poland.
Hard coal production in the month reached 4.5 million tonnes, up 2% year on year but down 4.5% month on month, and lignite production was 4.64 million tonnes, increasing 18.8% year on year and 8.4% month on month.
The cumulative production during January to May totaled 46.36 million tonnes, a 6% rise on the year; hard coal production hit 23.61 million tonnes, up 1.2% year on year, and lignite production was 22.75 million tonnes, a 11.5% rise.
