Power consumption of two out of the four major energy-intensive industries in China registered decline while the other two posted rise during the first four months compared with the preceding year, official data showed.
The four industries posted a combined 0.3% rise in power consumption during the period on a year-on-year basis, with the chemical industry and non-ferrous metallurgy industry growths at 4.8% and 1.6% respectively, according to China Electricity Council.
Power consumption of ferrous metallurgy industry and building materials industry declined by 2.7% and 3.2% year on year in January-April.
China's total industrial power consumption during the first four months of 2022 rose 2% on the year to 1,740 TWh.
