China and Mongolia planned to restart road transport at Zamyn-Uud/Erenhot border crossing in the near term, on the premise of strict implementation of anti-pandemic measures in the two countries, but it's unclear whether it will be scheduled on November 27.
The reopening of road transport, especially shipment of coal which means a lot for Mongolia's economy and China's coal supply, at the border crossing has been a focus of attention after the COVID-19 pandemic in Erenhot city came under containment, according to the report by Mongolian media.
The fact is the traffic in Erenhot city has gone back to normality, but it can't be understood that this decision will directly solve customs problems on the border, said vice director with Mongolian Road Transport Center.
After reopening, truck drivers of two nations can exchange containers without contacting at the operating area on the border.
