Shanxi's raw coal production increased 13.9% year on year in October to 95.44 million tonnes, according to data of the Shanxi provincial statistics bureau.
Shanxi's cumulative raw coal output over January-October hit 867.29 million tonnes, up 6.1% from a year ago.
The coal industry's added value rose 13.3% in October from the previous year, and expanded 5.6% in the first ten months of 2020.
Its coke production climbed up 13.2% from last year to 9.21 million tonnes in October. Shanxi produced 88.83 million tonnes of coke during January-October, a 7.0% growth year on year, according to the bureau.
The added value of the coking industry increased 13.5% year on year in October and rose 7.7% over January-October in Shanxi.
Shanxi's coal-bed methane production was 620 million m3 in October, increasing 3.7% year on year. The cumulative production during January-October was 5.69 billion m3, an increase of 5.6% year on year.
In October, the output of steel products in Shanxi reached 5.56 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 17.5%. The cumulative output from January to October was 50.79 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%.
Pig iron output was 5.39 million tonnes in October, up 15.9% year on year. The cumulative output during January-October totaled 50.34 million tonnes, an increase of 8.7% year on year.
In October, Shanxi's crude steel production was 5.82 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 14.8%. The cumulative crude steel output from January to October was 54.36 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 9.4%.
All the data refers to industrial enterprises in Shanxi province with annual main business income above 20 million yuan ($3.05 million).
