A new wind power plant was built up in Xianning city of Hubei province of China recently, Xinhua News Agency reported August 5.
The total installed capacity of the wind power plant, namely Luojiashan project, is 84 MW, with 42 wind turbines having a capacity of 2 MW per unit.
It is expected to help save 49,000 tonnes of coal consumption and reduce over 130,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year, after it is officially connected to the grid for generation.

With a total investment of 750 million yuan ($107.8 million), the project is expected to generate more than 157 GWh of electricity per year.
The newly-built wind farm is located in Chongyang county, between 610 meters and 770 meters above sea level, and is rich in wind energy resources.
