Raw coal output from China's 90 large miners climbed 0.3% from a year ago to 1.3 billion tonnes during January-June, official data showed.

Operating revenue (including non-coal businesses) of these miners came in at 1.68 trillion yuan ($240.3 billion), down 4.7% year on year, while their total profits slumped 33% to 56.2 billion yuan, showed data from China National Coal Association (CNCA).

The top ten coal enterprises produced a total 850 million tonnes of raw coal in the first half of the year, accounting for 47% of the total output produced by the 90 coal producers.

Six of them posted output increases combined at 25.85 million tonnes during the same period, while four reported declines of 12.99 million tonnes.

Raw coal output of China Energy Investment Corporation increased 1.9% on the year to 263.99 million tonnes, and that of China National Coal Group climbed 2.1% on the year to 105.87 million tonnes during the period.

Raw coal output of Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd and Datong Coal Mine Group stood at 90.31 million tonnes (9.2% YoY) and 88.8 million tonnes (7% YoY).

Yankuang Group and Shandong Energy Group followed with raw coal output at 81.83 million tonnes (2.9% YoY) and 50.20 million tonnes (-12.9% YoY) over January-June.

Shanxi Coking Coal Group produced 49.41 million tonnes of raw coal, decreasing 3.9% on the year.

Lu'an Group posted a year-on-year decrease of 2.7% to 42.15 million tonnes.

State Power Investment Corporation Limited produced 39.45 million tonnes in the period, down 5.8% on the year.

China Huaneng Group produced 38.54 million tonnes, up 8.4% year on year.
