Ordos, a major coal production hub in Inner Mongolia, saw another coal-dedicated rail line open to traffic on May 30, local media reported.
The railway, starting from Hongqinghe coal mine in Ejin Horo of Inner Mongolia, is a special rail line for Yitai Guanglian Coal and Chemical Co., Ltd.
The line, with a total length of 5,966 km and a general investment of 328 million yuan, started construction on April 15 in 2016 and completed construction in late April of this year.
It will effectively connect southern rail lines with Baoshen and Haoji railways, and improve coal transport structure.
The railway has an annual transport capacity of 47.76 million tonnes.
