Inner Mongolia's Manzhouli, the largest inland port of entry on the China-Russia border, registered a 25% year-on-year growth of coal imports via inbound trains as of May 29 this year, official data showed.
Total coal turnovers during the period reached 1.68 million tonnes, according to the Manzhouli Railway Station. Imports of iron ore concentrates were up 99% to 1.11 million tonnes.
Coal and iron ore took up 42.9% of total imports at 6.5 million tonnes over the same period.
