Liaoning province in northeastern China registered a year-on-year fall of 4.7% in raw coal output in January-April this year, showed official data.
The province produced 10.18 million tonnes of raw coal in the first four months, showed data from the provincial statistics bureau.
During the period, its output of natural gas totaled 220 million cubic meters, an increase of 11.9% compared with the year prior.
Output of crude oil rose by 1% year on year to 3.47 million tonnes, while processing of crude oil increased 15.2% to 33.35 million tonnes.
Major oil, coal and other fuel processing enterprises in Liaoning reported revenue combined at 213.46 billion yuan in January-April, rising 14.7% year on year. They suffered a net loss of 4.9 billion yuan, with net profit slumping 81.7% from the preceding year.
The province's electricity generation during the same period dropped 1.3% on the year to 62.82 TWh, while power consumption also declined 1.7% to 77.98 TWh, with decline narrower than a 2.1% drop in the first quarter.
Power usage by industrial sector was 53.17 TWh, down 3.7% year on year, a slower drop than a 4.5% decline in January-March.
