China exported 350,000 tonnes of coke in April, falling 40.5% from a year ago, customs data showed, as the outbreak of global COVID-19 epidemic continuously contracted demand while more surplus supplies of coke from other Asia countries kept eroding competitiveness of Chinese material.
The volume, however, climbed 9.38% from a low of 320,000 tonnes in March, customs data showed.
Export amounts declined 53.7% on the year to $81.92 million in April, with average export price at $234.04/t, down $71.47/t from the preceding year yet up $20.13/t from a month ago.
Total exports in January-April stood at 1.03 million tonnes, down 60.1% from a year ago, with export amounts down 69.2% to $240.85 million, data showed.
