China's installed power capacity from renewable energies presented a yearly rise of 8.4% to 802 GW by end-March this year, showed official data.
Installed capacity from hydro, wind, solar and biomass reached 357 GW, 213 GW, 208 GW and 24.06 GW, up 1.3%, 12.4%, 15.6% and 19.3% on the year, respectively, said the National Energy Administration at a news conference on May 18.
In the first quarter of 2020, power generation from renewables amounted to 392.34 TWh, a pickup of 3.84 TWh compared with a year ago.
Hydropower and wind power output stood at 196.3 TWh and 114.6 WTh, while solar power and biomass-fueled power output came in at 52.76 TWh and 28.7 TWh respectively, said the NEA.
