Guangdong province in southern China will see new energy installed capacity reach 60.5 GW in 2025, amid its stepped-up efforts to develop clean energy, according to a work plan released by the provincial energy bureau.
By 2025, the province's installed power capacity of wind, photovoltaic and biomass is expected to amount to 42 GW in total, while solar capacity is to reach 18.5 GW.
It will be an inspiring jump from 29.03 GW of new energy capacity in 2019, including 12.89 GW of wind, photovoltaic and biomass capacity and 16.14 GW of nuclear capacity, which had increased by 133.9% from end of 2015.
Guangdong pledges to boost large-scale offshore wind power generation amid its plentiful wind resources, distributed onshore wind power according to different situations and solar power that has low prices.
The province will cultivate some key power producers that have leading role and advantages in new energy development, in order to better support clean energy development.
