Chinese key steel mills' daily output of crude steel came in at 2.01 million tonnes in late Apr (April 21-30), rising 3.10% from ten days ago, showed data from the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
The production was also 0.45% higher than the same period last year.
Daily production of pig iron at these mills was 1.84 million tonnes during late April, rising 3.16% from ten days ago and up 3.56% from the preceding year.
Around 2.04 million tonnes of steel products were produced averagely each day, climbing 8.77% from ten days ago and increasing 1.35% year on year.
In late April, key steel mills churned out 20.12 million tonnes of crude steel in total. Their outputs of pig iron, finished steel and coke came in at 18.38 million, 20.42 million and 3.25 million tonnes.
During the period, key steel mills held 14.73 million tonnes of finished steel stocks, falling 2.69 million or 15.45% from ten days ago but increasing 54.51% from early this year.
