South African miner Exxaro Resources Limited plans to produce 48.617 million tonnes of coal in 2020, up from 45.277 million tonnes in 2019. This new production target represents an increase of 3.34 million tonnes or 7.4% year on year.
During 2020, the company plans to produce 45.829 million tonnes of thermal coal, up from 43.203 million tonnes in 2019, as well as 2.788 million tonnes of coking coal, up from the amount of 2.074 million tonnes in 2019.
Exxaro Resources is aiming to sell 49.445 million tonnes this year, up from 44.533 million tonnes in 2019. This new target represents an increase of 4.912 million tonnes or 11% year on year.
Exxaro exported 9.087 million tonnes of coal in 2019, a record high, up by 1.122 million tonnes or 14.1% from a year earlier. Exxaro plans to increase its export amount to 11.035 million tonnes in 2020.
For 2021, Exxaro set its coal production target at 52.81 million tonnes and sales target at 53.141 million tonnes.
