China's Aug coal exports plunge 29.8% YoY, GAC
China's coal exports presented a 29.84% decline compared with a year earlier in August, showed data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on September 8.
The country exported 341,000 tonnes of coal to main destinations last month, plunging 29.84% from the preceding year and down 48.49% from July, data showed.
China coal imports reach 7-mth high in Aug, GAC
China's coal imports touched a seven-month high in August this year, representing a strong pickup compared with the year-ago level, showed official data on September 8.
The country imported 32.95 million tonnes of coal in August, behind the record high of 33.5 million tonnes in January this year, showed data from the General Administration of Customs.
China Aug coke exports slump 44.04% YoY
China witnessed its coke exports decline 44.04% year on year and 9.07% month on month in August, data showed.
China exported 441,000 tonnes of coke in August, showed data from General Administration of Customs on September 8.
China 15 provinces' coal mines under safety checks
Coal mines in China's 15 provinces came under stringent one-month safety checks by seven inspection teams sent by the National Coal Mine Safety Administration from late August, in a bid to ensure safe operations and prevent safety hazards, said sources.
The inspections, scheduled to last till end-September, cover Shanxi, Shaanxi, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hunan, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Gansu, Xinjiang and Xinjiang Production & Construction Corps.
Inner Mongolia sees advanced coal capacity share jump to a high
Inner Mongolia in northern China has been accelerating the release of advanced coal capacity in recent years, in line with the nation's call to deepen structural energy reforms in coal industry, local authorities noted.
According to the Energy Bureau of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, energy industry in Inner Mongolia has witnessed a sea change in 2018.
Henan to cancel night shifts at all coal mines by end-2020
Henan province in central China pledged to call off night shifts at all coal mines by the end of 2020, and meanwhile implement weekend breaks, according to a work plan at a meeting on September 10.
It is in line with the province's efforts to promote smart mining operations that are expected to enhance mining efficiency, reduce labors and strengthen safety.
Shanxi to impose special emissions caps on cokemaking sector from Oct 1
Northern China's coal-rich Shanxi province plans to impose special emission caps on its cokemaking sector from October 1, said officials in a meeting on September 5, in a bid to improve air quality.
It is actually a belated plicy compared with similar limitations on other industrial sectors, like thermal power, steel, petrochemical, chemical, non-ferrous metals and cement sectors, which have taken effect since October last year.
Daqin Aug coal shipment down 8.83% on yr
China's leading coal-dedicated Daqin railway witnessed a year-on-year decline of 8.83% in its coal shipment in August, and a drop of 8.37% month on month, said its operator Daqin Railway Co., Ltd in an announcement recently.
Daqin railway shipped 34.17 million tonnes of coal in August, the announcement said.
